Have you ever longed for just Silence? A quiet place to retreat to from the loud demands of your life? The relentless obligations to perform? Responsibilities, children, spouses, bosses, people, pulling on you to give them what they need, what you need?
Take the time to sit in Silence, in the presence of the Lord. Wait for Him to respond as you tell Him your deepest and darkest anguish and concerns. He will respond with words you can understand, giving you scriptures, ideas, and tasks. He will remind you of things He has told you in the past, His calling, promises, and provisions. He will help you find lost things.
"Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known." Jeremiah 33:3 ESV
While the prophet Jeremiah sat in prison, the Lord spoke to him. He was in Silence. The place where he could hear the voice of God. A place where God speaks to us our assignments, our answers to our difficulties, where the peace of God is felt and sustained.
The apostle John was "caught up" while in the silence of his prison stay on the island of Patmos. He was given the vision of the sealed book containing seven seals as described in the book of Revelation chapter 5. Each of the first Four Seals opened in his sight as four distinctly divine creatures beckoned him to "come and see". When the Seventh Seal was finally opened, there was silence.
"And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour." Revelation 8:1 KJV
Though the silence in heaven is unclear, the silence of His presence and the greatness of God is.
Do you struggle with finding this Silence, this Peace, this knowledge of God? Seize time, and let the Holy Father give you wisdom, encouragement, strength, and direction. He is waiting for you to "Come and See".
On a journey of Healing and Hope with you,
Terri Lynne
