Do you ever feel like you are on the outside looking in, so to speak? Like everyone around you seems to have it all together and you don't? Do you ever just pull away from people who make you feel uncomfortable? Or how about the infamous comparing yourself to others? Does reason sometimes scream in your ears, "I don't have time for that person, I need to surround myself around those that 'get me', and my time is precious?" Well, maybe the truth is, God is directing the traffic of difficult people across our paths, to work His perfect work in our lives for His Glory.
Walking by faith, and not by sight takes work. Exercising our faith comes through affliction, hardship, uncomfortable circumstances, and especially difficult people. Without these, we may never need to act by faith alone. We might just move through our easy lives 'expecting' God's blessings without any work on our part. Except, God speaks directly to us in James 2:14-26 that "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."
So, when you begin to 'FEEL' like you are an alien in this life, remember, YOU ARE! But the glorious part of that truth is, the manifestation of your 'feelings' is the reality and confirmation of who YOU ARE IN CHRIST. Get this, did you know the angels themselves do marvel at how we, as the Body of Christ currently walk by faith and not by sight? Listen to this:
"Regarding this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace (of God) that was intended for you, searched carefully and inquired (about this future way of salvation), seeking to find out what person or what time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He foretold the sufferings of Christ and the glories (destined) to follow. It was revealed to them that their services (their prophecies regarding grace) were not (meant) for themselves and their time, but for you, in these things (the death, resurrection, and glorification of Jesus Christ) which have now been told to you by those who preached the gospel to you by the (power of the) Holy Spirit (who was) sent from heaven. INTO THESE THINGS EVEN THE ANGELS LONG TO LOOK." 1 Peter 1:10-12 Amp
The angels, who are already in heaven with God, don't need faith to believe, they are ever in the presence of the Triune God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. But they, look at us who walk by faith alone, and long to understand that kind of faith. One day we'll talk with them and understand more clearly what and how they think as we too will share their likeness, but for now, we need not be sad, lonely, nor depressed in this life because we are the 'elect', so WALK YE IN IT!! We can know confidently that we are right where He wants us, and that soon in due season we will receive our inherited salvation reserved for us in heaven.
On a journey of Healing and Hope with you,
