Sometimes I wonder… do we take the grace of God for granted? Do we go on about our business day by day, our jobs are going well, food is on the table, warm clothing and shoes nestled readily ordered in our closets, not to mention a roof over our heads to keep us safe from the storms, do we not walk in the fear of the Lord because all our needs are met?
In circumspect, it’s vital to be constantly aware of our state of mind, examining our thoughts, walking in humility of heart, and to live our lives well pleasing to the One Who Gave Us the Breath of Life and continues to provide all we need.
God forbid we should slip into a comfort zone of entitlement keeping us from growing in the Lord and being restored and “right” with Him. How easy it is for us humans to stray away and forget our God minimizing Him to a mere idol, carrying Him about neatly tucked into a state of religion, thinking we can live immorally, unholy, unscathed.
It is dangerous to think that God will not hold us accountable when we can no longer see sin for sin, because of the sin we have justified in our lives not to be sin.
“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
Isaiah 5:20 KJV
God has shown himself faithful to us, giving us breath in our lungs each new day, providing all our needs. We ought to be faithful to live and walk in His Truth.
“And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.”
Ezra 9:8 KJV
Lord, help us to see the truth of what really is sin and darkness, and shine your light that we may see. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
On a journey of Healing and Hope with you,
